In recent years, the Agriculture and Rural Affairs Bureau of Baojing County has made efforts to accelerate the construction of advantageous characteristic industries by strengthening the entire industry chain to provide strong support for industrial prosperity and high-quality development of agriculture and rural areas.
Industrial revitalization is an engine for rural development. Baojing County has developed the advantageous characteristic industry centered on “Baojing Golden Tea”, in a bid to develop itself into a national strong industrial town and a characteristic town of Baojing Golden Tea.
Thanks to the strong support of the Agriculture and Rural Affairs Bureau of Baojing County, Lyudongshan Town has developed “Baojing Golden Tea” and “Lyudong Mountain Scenic Area”. With the integration of tea and rural tourism, the town strives to create a characteristic town and form a new industrial pattern.
Baojing County has 53,000-mu (about 3,533.33 hectares) Baojing Golden Tea garden, with a harvesting area of 42,500 mu (about 2,833.33 hectares). The annual green tea production is about 76,000 kg, and the annual black tea production is about 44,000 kg, with an annual output value of over 300 million yuan.
The bureau, based on the superior resource and environmental endowment and good industrial foundation of Lyudongshan Town, has worked to promote the construction of the golden tea standardized production demonstration base and establish a green industry chain of green planting, refined processing, brand marketing, leisure tourism, and scenic area development, in a bid to ensure agricultural efficiency and increase farmers’ income.
Golden tea has a long history and profound culture. Huangjin Village has abundant ancient tree resources and 7 ancient golden tea gardens, with a total area of 14.86 mu (about 0.99 hectares) and 2,057 ancient tea trees.
Lyudong Mountain is the holy mountain of Miao people and is the most famous one in the Wuling Mountains. With towering peaks and sweet springs, it provides natural conditions for creating a golden tea tourism and sightseeing belt. Besides, the profound cultural heritage of the Miao ethnic group has also added an ethnic charm to the characteristic golden tea town.
In recent years, the booming development of the Baojing Golden Tea industry has attracted many tourists.
In the tea garden, tourists wearing Miao costumes pick tea leaves. Relying on the advantages of natural resources, Baojing County has formed a development model of “industry plus tourism plus characteristic folk customs”, tapped the tourism resources of mysterious Miao villages, and created new tourism forms.
Baojing County has embarked on a resource-saving and environment-friendly development path.
